ACADEMIC STAFF VACANCIES

UCLan Cyprus is pleased to announce the expansion of its academic provision following a successful second year of operation. Hence, the University is seeking academic staff to deliver its new courses to start in September 2014.
Appointments are required at Lecturer grade in the following areas:
• School of Law – 0.5 Lecturer in Law with expertise in at least one of the following areas: Ethics, Roman Law

• School of Sciences – TWO 0.5 Lecturers in Computing with expertise in the areas of: Graphics and Game Development, Software Engineering and Databases, and Network Systems and Security

• School of Business and Management – 1.0 Lecturer in Marketing and Management

Applicants should hold a PhD, preferably with experience of delivering teaching in Higher Education and a demonstrable track record of research. Fluency in English is essential for the position, and candidates should be prepared to travel and spend periods of time in the UK and other overseas countries as part of their duties. These are 3 year positions in the first instance.
The University also seeks applications for Associate Lecturers and Research Associates to deliver modules in the following areas for the 2014-15 academic year:
•  Marketing
•  Human Resource Management
•  Business Strategy
•  FinanceEntrepreneurship
•  Financial / Management Accounting
•  Business Economics
•  Hospitality and Tourism
•  Business Communication
•  English Language (TESOL)
•  English  Language and Academic Writing skills development
•  Mathematics
•  Computing - (preferably in the areas of Graphics and Game Development, Software Engineering and Databases, and Network Systems and Security, but other highly qualified candidates will be considered)
•  Psychology - (Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Neuroscience, Cognitive Psychology, or Psychometric Methods)
•  Law  (particularly the following areas of Cyprus Law: Civil and Criminal Procedure, Criminal Law, Law of Torts, Family Law)

Applicants for part time lecturing staff should have a Master's or PhD in a relevant subject area, and be fluent in the English language. Applicants for part time positions in Law should have either a Master's degree in Law or have qualified professionally as a lawyer. Previous experience of teaching at University level would be an advantage. Salary range is € 30-40 per hour, dependent on experience and qualifications.
